Vocation Story: From an early age, I trusted in the will of God. I took the faith as my own and sought God on my knees around the fifth grade. From that moment, my faith was not forced upon me by my parents. Rather, I chose to accept God’s invitation to a relationship. From the quiet of my heart and through prayer, I was led to many retreats and church events.
I was never certain where God particularly called me, but I felt there was a purpose so I trusted. At the advice of my priest, I dated, but I became unhappy because I felt myself running from God—from the idea of priesthood. After an extremely difficult time, I looked up during Mass and said, “Yes, Lord, I will follow You.” That week, I broke up with my girlfriend and sought out God with fervor. I emailed my vocation director three months later to begin the application process. For me, I am here by faith and trust because I love God and those I am sent to serve.
