Vocation Story: I have been thinking seriously about priesthood since before the start of my Sophomore year of high school. That summer, I went to a vocational retreat sponsored by my diocese, and at this retreat, I knelt before the Blessed Sacrament. I imagined myself performing the Mass, and I felt very much at peace.
I took this peace with me from this retreat and went about my normal life until the end of my junior year when I visited Bruté for the annual Bruté Days. During these days I worked with several current seminarians, and praying in the chapel here at Bruté, I felt the same peace as I did on that retreat one year earlier. I knew in that moment that I was called to be a seminarian and to be at Bruté. I quickly went back to my room and contacted my Vocation Director to start the application process. I felt so at home and at peace in that moment, and that peace has not left me but has increased since I began my life at Bruté.
