Vocation Story: A basketball coach once told me that the things in life that are difficult to do, are usually the things that make us a better person(referring to 6am basketball practices). Through High School, I disliked praying until I got a job as a janitor at St. Joe. I began to pray at their adoration chapel before my cleaning and at night after the cleaning. I began to fall in love with praying there. Praying, especially in front of the Eucharist, has given me the most peace I've ever felt in my life. I once told Father Michael Keucher (my pastor) that it feels as if I leave the reality of the world when I go pray at the chapel. He replied, “No, it’s because when you go pray, you are coming to the reality of the world.”
Also, around 2019 our church created a High School group called MOA’s (Men Of The Altar) and during COVID-19 me and the other 7 guys or so would pray at the church about every night. We prayed rosary after rosary, prayer after prayer. Many nights were from 7pm-midnight. It really sparked a piece of brotherhood that I have never felt in my life. As a result, I discerned that Seminary is exactly where I’m supposed to be at.
