Vocation Story: I believe that there are two major influences in my life that call me to the priesthood. First, my experience learning how to serve Mass. Being homeschooled until high school, my mom, sister, and I would attend Thursday morning Mass. And it was here that I learned how to serve, taught by then seminarian, Andrew Hess. Talking with him, and Fr McCarthy, I knew that I could enjoy life as a priest, in service of the church and her people. I also knew this because of my other major influence, Boy Scouts. Boy Scouts has been part of my life for over 8 years. My leadership in training and experience have taught me a lot. And the main value I have learned is servant leadership. Servant leadership is a style of leadership that focuses on the individuals and puts the individual and communal needs of your team above your own. This is how I love to lead, by serving those I lead. Through this leadership style, I achieved Eagle Scout. Through these two influences and prayer, I have heard God’s call, and I look forward to discerning His plan for my life.
