Vocation Story: When I was young the thought of priesthood entered my mind once or twice but only became really strong when I went to Mass at the National Basilica for the March for Life. When I was seeing hundreds of priests process in and celebrate Mass the thought of being part of that gave me joy. After this experience I continued through high school staying very active in my youth ministry program. During the summer I attended the One Bread One Cup youth conference at St. Meinrad and began to learn about Benedictine values and spirituality. This became the base that my spiritual life has been built on and made me want to pursue becoming a Benedictine monk. The feeling for priesthood and religious life would come and go depending on where I was and what I was experiencing, and at the end of high school I still had no idea what I wanted to do. Pretty soon I decided to not go to college yet and instead work at St. Bartholomew School. Early in the school year I had an experience in Lectio Divina the Benedictine way of praying with scripture that assured me in pursuing priesthood. From there I began the process and entered the seminary in the next fall.
